I am Dokino
A Mongolian Designer / Illustrator living, working and creating in New York City.
With 5+ years of experience in the surface/ textile design industry, building patterns and illustrations.
My work can vary in many different styles and qualities.
It is separated in two: Art and Design
Personal style in my Art are simple, bright-saturated colors, intricate line work, while the paintings include traditional, realistic style with surreal content. I prefer to work traditionally for my personal art.
As for Design, I am very flexible in embracing any style of work depending on what the client is looking for, from abstract graphics, florals to traditional patterns. Fully proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
The primary source of inspiration comes from my interest in different cultural arts and the diversity of natural organic beings. The works are is characterized by vibrant saturated colors, pattern design and central compositions.
My wide scope of client works range from working at The Rug Company as US Designer for Custom and Bespoke rugs, pattern / textile design, illustration, printmaking, apparel design, greeting cards, editorial art and jewelry design.
I participated in various group and solo art exhibitions in number of galleries in Mongolia and United States. As well as Pop-up style shows, art fairs and open studios.
I was also invited to speak at a TEDx event in Mongolia, speaking on the subject matter of Illustration and Education in 2013
BFA in Illustration from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.
